1.      MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:

The minutes of the meeting held on 7th July 2016 were approved.

2.        MATTERS ARISING:

2.1.            (Re Minute 2.2) We considered Scott Mands proposal for combining the membership of Dundee Council’s Disability and Age Action Group with our Dundee Access Group and thought that this would not be in the best interests of either group. We have a narrow expertise in physical matters like access to buildings, toilets, dropped kerbs and parking provision.  In these areas, though we are few in number, we can get things done and get pleasure from doing them.  To dilute our focus into other things would be difficult.

2.2.            (Re Minute 3.7)  Anne Farrow said that she had tried to put intimations of our DAG meetings in the Courier’s ‘What’s On’ column but was unsuccessful.  Carole said she try to find out how to do it.

2.3.            (Re Minute 4.2) Sandy said that after discussion with Dave Crozier he provided SDEF with details of DAG’s bank account but didn’t give out any personal details.

2.4.            (Re Minute 4.3)  It was decided that writing to the Chamber of Commerce was not urgent and should be postponed.

2.5.            (Re minute 4.4)  Avril Smith Hope and Dave Crozier have both been invited to our November meeting. However it was felt that fitting both in might be difficult.  This would be considered again after discussion with them both.

2.6.            (Re Minute 4.5)  Doreen brought a loop system with her for Denis to try and it did help a bit.  It was decided that we should explore more options before deciding whether to purchase any hearing aids.

2.7.            (Re Minute 4.5) Sandy visited Shopmobility and met Graham Angus. He said they would be grateful for a contribution to help purchase a larger mobility scooter which is now required. After discussion, it was agreed that Dundee Access Group should donate £250 towards this.
