APOLOGIES: Marie Riley.
1. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
The minutes of the meeting
held on 4th February 2016 were approved.
2.
MATTERS ARISING:
2.1.
(Re minute 2. 1). Arrangements have now also been made for our posters
and leaflets to given to all the Dundee
libraries, all the doctor’s surgeries, Shopmobility, Tayside MS Therapy Centre,
the Dundee branch of Alzheimer Scotland, and to the TORT Centre at Ninewells.
2.2.
(Re minute 2.2). Carole has again
been in touch with McDonalds.
2.3.
(Re minute 2.3). The Group were pleased with the new photos added to the
website.
2.4.
(Re minute 3.1) Some time was spent on the arrangements for the handing
over of the ramp to Pacamara on 11th March. Erik has worked hard on
all the invitations and has invited Cllr Ken Lynn to
say a few words, and a journalist from The Courier and people from STV to
provide publicity.
2.5.
(Re minute 3.3). Last month Erik handed out copies of a revised
Constitution for comment. Four members provided written suggestions of changes
they thought were needed and we went carefully through the Constitution considering
the points made. Anne will make the agreed amendments.
The following questions still have to be
answered: Do members need to do anything (like sign a bit of paper) to become a
member? How does the secretary know when
to add a name to the email distribution list? Who gets sent a copy of the
minutes?

4. A.O.C.B.
4.1
Mr Orr got in touch with us to complain about the number of cars parked
in disabled spaces at Asda Kirkton which did not have disabled badges displayed.
He had previously been in touch with Dorothy who told him that Dundee City
Council had no control over private car parks. Erik visited the car park and
found Mr Orr’s complaint was justified. The view of the Fairness Commission is
that when there is no law to prevent such actions we must appeal to the
offender’s morality and we must devise a method of doing so. Suggestions would
be welcome.
4.2
Anne was asked to email Patrick Nyamurundira saying that he was always
welcome to come to our meetings and that if there was something he wants to
speak to the group about we would allocate time for him at the start of
our next meeting.
4.3
Erik has contacted Dundee City Council asking that in future mail from
them to DAG be sent to his home address.
5. DATE OF NEXT MEETING.
The next meeting of Dundee Access
Group will be on THURSDAY April 7th 2016 at 12.45 in Thomas Herd House, 10 - 12 Ward Road, Dundee, DD1 1LX.
